Positive Reviews
positive:
Customer service with a smile.
Service at Palazzo Zichy is excellent. Staff go out of their way to assist guests with everything from airport transfers to boat trip and attraction tickets and are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Any issues which do arise are dealt with swiftly.
positive:
Sympathetic restoration.
The hotel, originally a residence for Hungarian nobles, has been sympathetically restored and brought up to modern standards. Rooms are spacious, clean and modern; with comfortable beds, well-thought out interiors and excellent air conditioning- no matter what the weather is doing outside.
positive:
Excellent breakfasts.
Most guests love the breakfasts; with a huge choice from fresh fruits, juices and baked goods to hot dishes and specialities like smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on offer. You can even opt for a champagne breakfast, if you wish.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Select rooms carefully.
If you like a long, hot soak in a tub after a days sightseeing you'll need to advise the hotel beforehand. Not all rooms include a bathtub, and many of the en-suites include only showers.
negative:
No late-night caffeine fixes.
The hotel does lay on complimentary bottled water, hot drinks and snacks all day, every day, however, some guests have suggested that tea and coffee making facilities in their rooms would be more welcome- for those late-night caffeine fixes. There is word, however, that staff can provide a kettle upon request, depending upon availability.
negative:
A little out of the centre.
Palazzo Zichy is just a 10-15 minute leisurely walk from the centre of Budapest, which most consider fine. If you'd rather be right in the middle of the action, however, consider this when booking.
