Hotel Ellingsens Pensjonat (Oslo, Norway)

Ellingsens is located in what most visitors describe as a “charming location”, that is a pleasure just to simply walk through. Guests loved the abundance of shops, cafes and bakeries in the area. Conveniently, there is a city bike rental station just outside the hotel, and free street parking is available in the neighbourhood. On a sunny day, guests recommend making a walk to Frogner Park.

The rooms at Ellingsens are classically decorated with all the essentials of modern comfort. The in-room amenities are simple but clean, and provide you with everything you need. Guests especially appreciated the mini-fridge.

Breakfast is not included in the room rate but guests say it's worth getting. The morning meal is filling and offers a wide variety of foods to try. It's perfectly energizing before a long day out.

Make sure to pack some earplugs on your trip as guests say some rooms have thin walls. Guests reported hearing their neighbours as well as hallway traffic quite well on several occasions. In addition, the hotel is next to a tram stop, and a few guests found the rattle from the tracks a bit bothersome.

The studios are located on the basement level of the hotel, so they do not have full windows. Due to the poor external light, the studios appear a bit darker than the other rooms.

If you have a lot of luggage or trouble with stairs, keep in mind that there is no lift on the property. Of course, if available, the staff with gladly help you out with your luggage but unfortunately, hotel personnel are not always onsite.
