Hotel Eagle River Microtel (Knik, USA)

Staff here are very accommodating and will always try their best to help you and will even give recommendations on the best places to go for something to eat or even to have food delivered. The staff on the front desk have received particular praise and mentioned by name for always being so polite and courteous.

Located just off Glenn Highway it is really easy to find the hotel and this road gives easy access to the larger town of Anchorage where you will find the University of Alaska, Merrill Field Airport and Sullivan Arena which holds concerts, sporting events and exhibitions. Within the immediate vicinity of the hotel in Eagle River there are plenty of bars and restaurants.

The pet friendly policy means that you can bring along your cat or your dog and you don't have to worry about leaving them at home.

The rooms are not equipped with fridges or microwaves which is something that you do expect to have nor do they have coffee makers or hairdryers. Some guests felt that this is not made clear on the website as only the suites have these items.

Breakfast is disappointing with a lack of choice and the food that is available is either stale or frozen and not very appetising. The coffee is also not very nice and there are reports that the coffee machine often didn't work.

The lack of air conditioning at this property left many previous guests feeling disappointed and feeling quite hot and bothered as despite the location in Alaska the rooms can still get hot and stuffy.
