The breakfast available at the hotel was delicious, many people commented that whilst it was a simple meal, they enjoyed it as it provided the fuel they need for a day exploring the Chamonix valley.
Located in the centre of Chamonix in a quiet street, the du Clocher hotel is perfect for a short or long stay in the Chamonix valley. As a converted townhouse, the hotel has a number of rooms available across a range of configurations from double rooms to triple rooms which each have a TV, and an en-suite bathroom. Some also have excellent mountain views. The hotel’s restaurant serves regional specialties in a causal setting and the hotel is also only a three minute walk to Chamonix’s popular restaurant and bar precinct. The hotel du Clocher has a garden and a terrace and offers complimentary Wi-Fi and parking is also free. Pets are welcome with prior notification. The Aiguille di Midi cable car is a ten minute walk from the hotel and the train to the Mer De Glace is a five minute walk. The hotel is only 1.5 hours by car or shuttle transfer from Geneva International Airport.

A number of previous guests to the hotel remarked that the free parking was very convenient, as parking is generally limited in Chamonix. In addition, guests noted that the Wi-Fi was reliable and the signal strength good which let them use their devices with no trouble.
The hotel is very close to the ski lifts and the centre of town and a number of reviewers mention that the proximity to the lifts was a highlight of their stay as it was easy to ski all day then visit Chamonix bars for an afternoon apres ski.
A number of people who have stayed at the hotel did not have positive words about the tiny and cramped rooms. The cleanliness of the rooms also did not get positive reviews with many guests commenting that the dust and the dirt was very obvious around the room.
Some guests were very disappointed by the lack of sound-proofing between the rooms. It seems that you get to know your neighbours very well in this hotel. Guests also commented that there was a general lack of maintenance throughout, with some guests noticing broken fixtures and fittings that needed some attention.
A number of reviews specifically signalled out the owner of the hotel as being a little grumpy. Some thought that the owner could have brightened their mood before dealing with their guest, so as not to offend.
