Hotel DoubleTree by Hilton Utica (Utica, USA)

The hotel's lobby area is a selling point for many with its high ceilings, grand crystal chandeliers, marble columns and mosaic tilework. It certainly creates an elegant setting.

The hotel offers a nice and varied spread of breakfast options each morning in a spacious and charming breakfast area, ensuring you get a good meal to start your day off at no extra cost.

Towards the back of the property is the car park which is free for all guests, convenient and has ample space.

Previous guests have commented on some fittings and furniture perhaps needing updating, for example some tiling in certain areas or the television sets in some guest rooms. Given that the hotel originally opened over a century ago however, some original fittings looking slightly dated are understandable and overall the Hotel Utica it has retained its old-world grandeur.

The general vicinity around the hotel is starting to see some regeneration and improvement, however some guests expressed concern over the little attention to cleanliness outside and how quiet the area got at times.

The hotel entrance is a few steps up from the street/parking level and although there are elevators on the inside, they are quite small and may be difficult to manoeuvre for people needing the use of wheelchairs or other walking aids.
