Hotel de France (Bergerac, France)

The hotel is located close to the popular Old Town and you'll be able to walk to many landmark sights, shops, and restaurants. It's also close to the popular and charming Bergerac Market.

While prices in France are never cheap, this rate is very competitive and guests will get a lot for their money. The rooms are modern and of a decent size. All rooms have air conditioning and many have balconies with furniture or Juliet balconies that let fresh breezes into the room. Also, the room rate includes a continental breakfast.

The hotel is small, but that gives it a quaint and charming aspect. There are lovely little touches like flower baskets on quiet balconies. The entrance and staircase are both quite grand and ornamental. Also the pool area is both relaxing and beautiful.

The hotel is more of a basic stay, rather than luxury. The bathrooms could use a modern updating. The rooms are missing some nicer features like a kettle for tea and coffee, a mini refrigerator, and an in-room safe.

Breakfast will not be French haute cuisine or gourmet offerings. Instead, the offerings are sparse and uninspired. The items don't change from day to day and the breakfast area isn't open early.

Some items and amenities just don't work or aren't available. While 24-hour reception is advertised, the front desk is frequently unmanned and the front doors locked. Guests have to use a keypad to enter. The Wi-Fi is lousy and there is extremely limited parking.
