Hotel Comfort Suites Concord Mills (Concord, USA)

Check in is super easy. Later, it’s easy to walk to any number of restaurants, bars and shops … so no driving and parking frustrations. The location, off the Interstate, couldn’t be more convenient – although that brings its own problem in the form of traffic noise.

Nowhere is perfect  and any assessment of this hotel’s attractions and faults must be tempered by some hard facts.  Generally, standards of cleanliness are high, plus - crucially - it is very well-priced when compared with neighboring competitors.

A nice feature is the choice of hard or soft pillows. Some folk don’t care but it’s a real feature for many. It doesn’t cost the hotel much, but it is a much appreciated service.

If you’re a light sleeper, you need a room facing away from the Mall. Otherwise, you’ll suffer as a result of incessant Interstate noise combined with local residents … every one of whom seems to have a noisy giant pickup.

Presumably, bathrooms are next on the renovation list. Currently, though, they are somewhat dated with cracked and broken tiles. There’s that mildew smell and there’s a bed bug problem here too. It is, though, clean – which is the main thing. The communal pool, though, gives the impression of being in need of an uplift.

Traffic can be very heavy so, if you can avoid it, don’t attempt to drive – at certain times. Not such a big disadvantage as you might think because there’s so much here that’s within easy walking distance of the hotel.
