Friendly faces and plenty of food...
Guests often report a warm welcome from the knowledgeable and professional front desk staff, and are generally pleased with the complimentary hot breakfast buffet, noting there is plenty of choice as well as a few good restaurants in walking distance. Travelers also appreciate the fresh popcorn (served daily at 4pm) and the warm cookies (at 7pm) in the lobby.
positive:
Clean, comfortable rooms with no surprises...
The guest rooms are widely described as clean, spacious, quiet, and comfortable. Though the fairly traditional decor is not to everyone's taste, most find the furnishings well maintained, the bathrooms reasonably modern, and the beds exceptionally cozy with a nice of choice of pillows. The microwaves and mini fridges are widely appreciated, too.
positive:
A short and scenic drive....
The hotel is about 10-15 minutes outside of downtown Boulder, and many travelers enjoy the scenic commute, either by car or via the Skip bus line. It's also conveniently close to the highway for hikers headed to Rocky Mountain National Park or one of the many other natural wonders in the area.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Getting a little old...
Recent travelers have described the hallways as dark, and the guest room decor as a bit outdated, though some enjoy a nice view of the foothills.
negative:
Middle of the road...
Though the hotel receives a good number of very positive reviews, guests often rate the property, customer service, or breakfast as "average," or describe their stay as pleasant, yet in no way memorable.
negative:
To err is human...
An unpleasant exchange at the front desk or housekeeping oversight has ruined an otherwise comfortable stay for some recent travelers.
