Positive Reviews
positive:
Beautiful and peaceful views
One of the hotel's main appeals is its location, which provides guests with the kind of peaceful, scenic views found in postcards. It's relatively quiet here too, so you won't be disturbed by town and traffic noise, only the sounds of the water and local wildlife.
positive:
Notable breakfast options
The free breakfast is somewhat memorable because it's not just the typical cereal box and coffee provisions. There is standard fare, but the eggs and meats are made to order and thus, quite fresh. It's great quality, and the taste and expert preparation are evident.
positive:
Decent pricing for the amenities
Clover Island Inn is fairly priced for the size and ambience of the rooms and amenities. It's a nice and clean place to stay, and doesn't have inflated pricing for luxuries that aren't there. You get a cozy room and breakfast, and a nice array of onsite extras if you want something immediate to do.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Bar noise affects nearby rooms
Check if you are staying in a room that is near the bar, and if so, have ear plugs handy. The noise easily comes through, and can make it difficult if you're trying to quietly unwind, or ready for sleep.
negative:
Rooms could definitely use makeovers
The room' sufficiency is just that, it's good but not outstanding or particularly memorable. Furnishings and fixtures show their age and use, and the overall impression is far more dated and lackluster than preferred.
negative:
Pet toilet area is close to some rooms
The outside area designated for dogs to relieve themselves is quite close to where ground-floor windows would be open for some rooms. Some guests find it off-putting, so you may want to ask about your room's location when checking in.
