Positive Reviews
positive:
Great sound-proofing between rooms
One of the strongest appeals that this motel has is that noise is surprisingly very well buffered. Guests aren't bothered by loud TV, music, and conversations that occur between rooms, thus it's easy and stress-free to be able to relax and sleep.
positive:
Rates are just right for the basics
There's no inflated pricing for Claridge Inn, and that suits guests just fine. You get the basics for low cost, and can use the savings towards exploring the area and further travel. It's refreshing to find dependable budget lodging that's cheaper than several comparable ones in the neighborhood.
positive:
Helpful and friendly staff are a plus
Staff are delightful, and attend to every guest, to make sure that everyone is having a successful stay. They're a reliable and friendly source for directions, advice, and insider sightseeing tips, and will help as best as they can with reservations and getting what you need.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Traffic and noise affects ground floor rooms
Although there's little noise echoing between rooms, note that ground floor rooms will hear the outside road and people traffic. Exterior sounds don't seem to travel much to the upper rooms, so you'll have a more peaceful time if you avoid the first level.
negative:
Rooms are outdated and need makeovers
Despite its no-frills persona and low costs, the motel could strongly benefit from a makeover. It's drab and dingy, with well worn furniture and fixtures, tattered rugs, and linens and towels that show excessive use and laundering.
negative:
Disappointing that there is no breakfast
There are several places for breakfast close by, and the inn does provide coupons for some of them. However, guests would still prefer something onsite, even if just a box of doughnuts or muffins, or fruit and cookies.
