The outlook from the hotel is great. You'll get a beautiful view of the old pier, either from your room or from the restaurant. Looking out onto the promenade and the sea gives you a fine sense of location.

Cecil House is an old building, so there is no lift. If you are on one of the upper floors, you'll have to deal with a whole lot of stairs.

The hotel feels a bit dated and in need of freshening up. This includes the bathrooms, where the showers are quite hard to use. For a start, they aren't very powerful and then finding the right temperature is incredibly tricky.
