positive:
Lush jungle setting
Set against a cliffside jungle, a true topical feeling awaits you at the Casa Iguana. A variety of birds, turtles, butterflies, frogs and iguanas on the hotel property make you feel like you are really away from it all. Guests found that the hotel grounds were well landscaped and maintained.
positive:
Large rooms and separate bedrooms
Guests appreciated the space for the whole family to stretch out. Large parties can be accommodated in two or three-bedroom suites, ideal for long-term stays or those who need a little more room.
positive:
A slower pace
Immerse yourself in local life away from the crowds at the Casa Iguana. The quaint town of Mismaloya gives you a taste of authentic Mexico, with friendly people willing to help. Take the bus with the locals, relax by the pool, or soak in the incredible sunsets without dealing with the loud nightlife and busy streets of some of Puerto Vallarta's main tourist zones.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms not always up to cleanliness standards.
Several guests of the Casa Iguana found their rooms to be a little untidy. Things like dusty blinds and unchanged bed linens took away from the overall experience. Cleanliness concerns were also commonly noted with the kitchenette. The hotel is reportedly addressing their housekeeping deficiencies after changing ownership.
negative:
Unreliable Wi-Fi
You might find spotty or non-existent Internet access during your stay. Guests had better luck accessing Wi-Fi in outdoor areas than in their rooms.
negative:
Potentially noisy fellow guests
A good night's sleep might be hard to come by if guests decide to celebrate into the night. Many guests found that the hotel had a loosely enforced noise policy, making their stay anything but peaceful. Loud music in the pool area was also a concern for some.
