Nicely-themed property- colourful & festive
The property itself is something that guests admired, a great old mansion with rooms that feature an authentic Mexican decor. There is also a lovely restaurant and a beautiful courtyard. The entirety of the property is colourful and festive, something different from many chain hotels.
positive:
One block to the beach and close to city centre
Guests appreciated the property's setting, as it is just one block from the beach and is surrounded by restaurants, stores and boutique shops. It is close to Isla Cuale, a great place to stroll because of the vibrant market stands. Moreover, the city centre can be reached within 20 minutes.
positive:
Scrumptious food, impressive on-site restaurant
The on-site restaurant is one of the best dining options in the area according to guests. Dishes served here are popular among local and foreign tourists alike, such as the Mahi-Mahi and the Portobello Mushroom stuffed with seafood. Not only are the dishes great, the dining area is also impressive.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Loud neighbourhood
Many guests complained that they are able to hear the loud music from the nearby disco pub inside their rooms. Because the property is located on a busy area, there are many cars and people passing along the establishment. Thus, noise is highly anticipated in rooms near the street.
negative:
Inconsistent water temperature
Water pressure inside the rooms was so unpredictable! There were times when the guests experienced a bounty of hot water, while others ran out of it and settled instead with the cold water. Some guests even complained that they have stayed at the hotel for few days, and they experienced no hot water.
negative:
Wi-Fi problems
Previous guests complained that the supposedly free Wi-Fi cannot be accessed inside their rooms. The signal was only strong at the breakfast area and the lobby.
