Negative Reviews
negative:
Hotel exterior deceiving.
While the outside of the hotel looks new and inviting, many guests commented that the inside was a bit of a disappointment. Carpet that had seen better days, dated furniture and older TVs signaled the need for an interior refresh for some guests. Guests also found evidence of wear and tear on the outside steps and in common areas. Several guests were less than thrilled with sagging beds and lumpy pillows.
negative:
Busy front desk.
You may encounter a line-up of tourists waiting to get the key to their room. At the 4:00 p.m. Check-in time, several guests had to join a line to get room access. With tourist buses unloading, and hotels often booked to capacity in Banff, be prepared for a potential wait.
negative:
Inattentive staff.
Many guests were unhappy with the level of customer service they received. Certain staff members appeared unknowledgeable about the attractions and activities available to tourists. Other staff members were impolite and disinterested. Guests found that the front desk was sometimes empty due to staff attending to the sister hotel.
