Situated in one of the most scenic and tranquil settings in the Mid-Atlantic, with unlimited recreation and family-focused activities, the 3-star Canaan Valley Resort is a four-season mountain destination providing the perfect escape from daily life. Fifteen miles long by three miles wide, Canaan Valley is the highest mountain valley east of the Rocky Mountains, with a base elevation of 3,100 feet. Canaan Valley Resort is nestled on a plateau overlooking the valley, offering sweeping views of the surrounding peaks.Temperatures in the valley are 10-15 degrees cooler than nearby metro areas due to our altitude and climate. Summer activities include an 18 hole championship golf course, sporting clay range, hiking and mountain biking trails, plus sporting clay shooting range. Take the scenic chairlift ride to the top of the mountain and view the valley from 4280'. The resort offers a variety of dining and gift shop options, plus indoor and outdoor heated pools. In the winter, the resort receives an average 140" natural snowfall due to the altitude providing a winter wonderland for snow sport enthusiasts. Downhill and cross country skiing, plus snow tubing and ice skating are available.
