As central as you can get in Baltimore
Around the corner from the Mount Vernon Cultural District, you won't get much closer to downtown than the Hotel Brexton. From here, you can walk to sites like the Historical Society or catch a bus, train, or just walk to the trendy Inner Harbor.
positive:
Historic and modern
First used as a hotel in the late nineteenth century, the hotel was recently renovated and now offers the best of old world charms and modern technology. You can wake up a cup of coffee while listening to your through the clock radio in a room that was built over a hundred years ago.
positive:
Free breakfasts is a great pick-me-up
Every morning, the hotel provides a free breakfast in the Café downstairs. Featuring bagels and breads, cereal, yogurt, fruit, coffee, cappuccino, teas, and juices, you can power up for your day of exploring Baltimore—on the house.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Very limited parking
While the hotel does offer some onsite and nearby paid parking, unfortunately the number of spaces is extremely limited. There are additional public parking lots nearby, but they may run you a pretty penny as well.
negative:
Climate control issues
Recently renovated, the Hotel Brexton is a very modern hotel with up to date amenities and facilities. On the other hand, some guests had problems getting the air conditioning and heating to work properly. If this happens to you, however, the temperature is controlled by the front desk, so remaining comfortable can be a minor hassle.
negative:
Paid wireless web
A number of guests have mentioned that, while the hotel does provide Wi-Fi access, they will charge you for it. Fortunately, in this day and age, there are a number of hotspots nearby, and most guests were able to use their phone's Internet if worst came to worst.
