Positive Reviews
positive:
Conveniently located to sites of interest
The inn is easy to get to and from off of the expressway, and it's a convenient base for sightseeing in the region. The racetrack, entertainment venues, zoo, and other popular places for appreciating Louisville are nearby. It's a great place for all ages to stay at, and absorb the Kentucky culture.
positive:
Staff exhibit lovely Southern hospitality
The region is known for Southern hospitality, and that character quality is quite evident here. Staff are outgoing, personable, and provide what's needed to further enhance your stay or make it more to your liking. They're polite, generous, and a definite bonus to this lodging.
positive:
Well maintained pools monitored by lifeguards
Guests appreciate that the pools are staffed by lifeguards, and are kept clean and stocked with fresh towels. They're comfortable amenities for families as well as couples and single guests, and are popularly used, rather than just features that are mentioned but not encouraged.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Breakfast lacks appeal, variety, and taste
Although Breckinridge Inn receives compliments for providing a free breakfast, unfortunately the meal fails to impress. It's standard buffet fare, not memorably presented, and the cooked ingredients are not well seasoned. Given the atmosphere, many would prefer more than biscuits and gravy as local flavor.
negative:
Rooms could use makeovers and better cleaning
Housekeeping is not always up to par, with guests finding dust bunnies and debris under the beds, under the linens or in corners of the rooms. The overall décor is disappointing, and not as fresh as expected or as should. There's potential and promise, but not being sufficiently displayed.
negative:
Mold and musty odors are disheartening to discover
It's a let-down experiencing musty odors that suggest unclean conditions, and then also finding traces of mold or mildew in the bathroom.
