Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent for families and groups
The hotel can accommodate up to five beds in the family
rooms with ample space for everyone. Pets are also welcome at no extra charge,
which makes Boterhuis even more ideal for a trip with the whole family or a
group of friends, for example.
positive:
Central yet quiet location
Boterhuis is located right around the corner from many of
Bruges' charming historical spots as well as restaurants and cafés, however
this does not compromise the peaceful atmosphere in the hotel itself.
positive:
Complimentary breakfast
Many guests have praised the continental breakfast of fresh
breads, juices, eggs made to order, etc. as being of good quality although it's
basic and a big plus that it is included in the room rate.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Parking is charged daily
There is a parking garage around the corner from the hotel,
however space is limited so you should make a reservation for this and a daily
charge applies, which may amount to a lot over time. It is however private and
secure.
negative:
No elevators
The age of the hotel building is to be considered if you have limited mobility or heavy luggage, as some of the rooms are a floor or two up the narrow, winding staircases in the older parts of the building and no lifts are on site.
negative:
No restaurant on site
Given that there is no refrigerator or even kettle in the rooms, the lack of a restaurant means eating out for the majority of your stay although a packed lunch can be arranged for you to take on your tours/continuing journey. However, the area has a number of good restaurants and pubs to sample.
