Positive Reviews
positive:
Nicely located to colleges and sites of interest
The hotel is a great place to stay if you're in the area to interview or visit someone at one of the medical schools. There are also several well known attractions in close proximity that cover a variety of cultural and entertainment interests.
positive:
Cozy beds and accommodations for the price
For a decent budget price, you get a comfy bed that provides a restful sleep. The room is cozy and peaceful, and the type that you'll enjoy retiring to during your travels. Although there's nothing fancy here, it's a reliable place to stay for a couple of nights.
positive:
Friendly staff are a great source for sightseeing
The staff at Gen X Inn are polite and welcoming, and a great source for local insider knowledge. They'll gladly help with trolley and bus schedules, or how to best walk to or drive somewhere. They're also attentive to whatever you need while staying inside at the hotel.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Walls have no insulation to buffer noise
You'll probably hear most sounds between rooms and from the hallway, whether it be conversations, TV and radio, heavy walking, or just not quietly closing a door. Be aware of your volumes, and have ear plugs ready when needed.
negative:
Unclean rooms and poor attention by staff
For every wonderful staff member, there's someone who isn't as great and focused. Housekeeping isn't always at its best, and when you do get a hold of someone to address cleaning issues, you may be asked to help, even if not your mess.
negative:
Lack of pool and other amenities is disappointing
You shouldn't expect much here, but more than a small gym is still desired. A pool and more onsite dining would be appreciated and act as a better incentive to stay here.
