Positive Reviews
positive:
Million dollar views.
Guests would stay again, if only for the magnificent views of the Zócalo and surrounding area. Many enjoyed watching free concerts, flag raising ceremonies, and other activities from either their rooms or the wonderful rooftop restaurant. A bonus was that the surrounding neighborhood was also pleasant and felt very safe.
positive:
Authentic Mexican feel.
Despite being part of a chain of hotels, the Best Western Majestic was a unique historical gem for many. Guests loved the 1930's architecture and characterful features like the spiral staircase and ornate lighting.
positive:
Restaurant worth a try.
In addition to the awesome views, guests were generally satisfied with meals served at the restaurant. Staff were noticeably personable, and many said that they were the friendliest group of workers at the hotel.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Spartan rooms.
Accommodation didn't match the rest of the hotel. Guests were often disappointed with basic rooms that lacked things like nice towels and bedding, as well as other amenities that contribute to a comfortable stay. Carpets were frequently worn, and many guests said that mattresses needed replacing.
negative:
Noise could be a factor.
Noise sometimes played a large part in whether or not guests enjoyed their stay. Unfortunately, several visitors had problems with paper thin walls that made it easy to hear sounds from the bar and restaurant. Being in the middle of it all has its perks, but street noise also put a damper on the great location for many guests.
negative:
Inefficient hot water.
It seems the plumbing system couldn't always keep up with the number of guests. Morning showers were a chilly situation for some, while others found that water took a very long time to warm up.
