Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient to where you need to be.
Guests couldn't fault this hotel for its location. Not only was there a train station across the street and buses nearby, it was also a straight drive down one road to get to downtown Long Beach. A gas station and convenience store was also adjacent, and some guests were pleasantly surprised to discover the free shuttle to San Pedro pier.
positive:
Great perks.
The delicious breakfast and secure parking were good reasons for guests wanting to return. Breakfast had a varied selection that was above average, and guests were confident leaving their vehicle here, even for a long time.
positive:
Amazing staff.
Guests said that hotel personnel were some of the best that they had encountered. Everyone from the front desk workers, breakfast room attendants and shuttle drivers had a friendly disposition, and it was a pleasure for many to interact with them.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rough around the edges.
While most guests didn't have a problem with their room, some took issue with run down common areas that could have used some sprucing up. Worn carpet and a bit of uncleanliness in places didn't give some guests a great first impression.
negative:
Not the best neighborhood.
Guests said that they felt safe here, but that it just wasn't the best neighborhood in town. Homeless people and questionable characters in the area meant that some decided to take a taxi rather than walk around at night.
negative:
Noisy at times.
Noise from the street and from the busy train station were a let down to a few guests who had their sleep disturbed. Best Western Long Beach Inn is located in a high traffic area, so bring your ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.
