Hotel Best Western- Big Bear Chateau (Big Bear Lake, USA)

If you like to start your day with a hearty breakfast then you'll love staying at Best Western Big Bear Chateau. Many guests report that the complimentary breakfast provided is very good, offering a very generous range of items, some of which are cooked to order.

According to several guests, the rooms are decorated nicely and are kept clean and in good order. In particular, the fireplaces in every room are a nice touch and add to the ambiance.

You'll find Best Western Big Bear Chateau, set in a beautiful forest setting, perfectly located for visiting the town's attractions. The hotel, surrounded by trees and set back from the road, offers a quiet location and is close to several restaurants and bars such as The Captain's Anchorage and Black Diamond Tavern. Also, Big Bear Marina, which offers numerous water-based activities on Big Bear Lake, is only a five-minute drive away.

A source or annoyance for some guests was the fact that room temperatures are controlled centrally and can't be individually tailored to meet guest requirements. This resulted in some guests being too hot in their rooms.

Based on feedback from a few guests, it seems that some of the rooms are a little small compared to others in the hotel. Also, the beds were too small for a few guests.

The hotel does provide a lift but it seems it doesn't serve all the rooms very well, particularly on the second floor where after having used the lift it is still necessary to walk down some stairs to reach the rooms.
