Great as a base for a Virginia Beach vacation
This is a great location if you're looking to be near the beach and immediate attractions. The shore is right there, and plenty of local amenities are conveniently close by. Getting back and forth to neighboring Chesapeake and Newport News is also possible during your stay.
positive:
Staff are polite, helpful, and try their best
The staff do their best to help make sure you have what you need or want during your time with them. Reception is available round the clock, and there's always someone to take your requests or answer questions and do what's possible to make you happy.

Good enough for a cheap stay near the beach
Belmont Inn & Suites is a decent option for when you want or need to stay at the beach at budget expenses. It's close enough for walking to the beach, yet relatively quiet so you have somewhere to retreat to and relax, after a busy and noisy day.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Dirt, mold, debris, and bad odors befall rooms
Housekeeping standards need to be addressed, with rooms not at all properly prepared before check-ins. There's evident piles of dust and dirt, grime and mold in the bathrooms, and unpleasant smells that turn guests off right away.
negative:
Rooms are outdated and have shoddy furnishings
Low prices don't have to mean poor furniture and appliances, and outdated décor. The rooms are disappointing, especially for a seaside location, with obvious signs of wear and tear, distress, and a need for touching up.
negative:
Inconsistent air conditioning ruins comfortability
Air conditioning doesn't always work, or if it does, it can be inconsistent. Be prepared for that possibility, so perhaps pack a small travel fan just in case.
