Close to the interstate and restaurants.
For road-trippers on a stopover and visitors to Florence alike, Baymont Inn & Suites Florence offers a highly convenient location just off the interstate. If you arrive tired and hungry, the last thing you'll want to do is spend time driving around in search of food, and here, there are several restaurants on the doorstep.
positive:
Enjoy a satisfying breakfast.
You'll get more than just a muffin and a coffee when you stay at this hotel - the free breakfast includes a choice of eggs, waffles and fresh fruit to get your day off to a great start. It's definitely good fuel if you've got a day of driving, sightseeing, or business meetings ahead of you.
positive:
The pool scores points.
According to previous guests, the pool is generally clean and well-maintained, and when the sun is shining, the whole outdoor space is a great place to lie back and soak up the rays. Whether the kids want a splash, or you want to swim some lengths, it's a nice touch.
Negative Reviews
negative:
The smell of bleach in the air.
While the rooms are clearly kept clean, it seems that the housekeepers are perhaps over-zealous in their use of strong cleaning products and air freshener sprays - many guests complain that the entire hotel often has the overpowering smell of bleach and assorted chemicals.
negative:
There's no elevator.
If you have mobility issues or you're dragging heavy luggage with you, be aware that the hotel doesn't have an elevator, so there may well be some stairs to traipse up and down. Accessible rooms are available, so if you can't manage the climb, request a ground-floor room in advance.
negative:
The parking lot is a bit dodgy.
Like many off-interstate locations, the local area isn't the best, and some guests have felt uncomfortable due to people loitering around the parking lot at night and a lack of security in place. If you're arriving solo late at night, it may not be the best place, thought the hotel itself seems safe.
