Like any metropolitan city, finding budget accommodation close to transport can be difficult. Backpackers who left reviews about the hostel consistently mentioned the price as being very reasonable and some of the best value in inner city Brisbane.
The hostel is only a 15 minute walk into the main mall in Brisbane which is the launching pad to see and do most of the things in the area. Backpackers commented that this was one of the best features of the hostel.
There is bar and nightclub downstairs underneath the hostel and many guests were not prepared for the thumping associated with the loud music coming from the club. The traffic noise for some was also a problem as Roma Street is very busy.
Backpackers thought that some of the eight to ten bed dorm spaces had too little room for the amount of people that they cram into a room and even though as a backpackers are used to small spaces most felt that it was pretty small.
The volume of people using the bathrooms and the lack of cleaning does not make for a happy hostel according to the comments from reviewers who described the experience as grotty and foul, with leaky taps and water everywhere.
