About B&B Guste
B&B Guste is a small family run agency renting out rooms in a couple of apartments to the south of Rome’s tourist centre.
The rooms are within fairly normal apartments, with the bathroom, small kitchen and seating area shared between all the guests staying there. The bedrooms are elegantly furnished and feature large flat screen TV’s.
These rooms are essentially rented rooms in apartments, and there are no real public facilities. Free Wi-Fi is available, though, and the hosts will be more than happy to give guests a run down on what not to miss in Rome.
A basic breakfast is available every morning, but for other meals one of the world’s gastronomic capitals awaits just beyond the doors.
B&B Guste’s rooms are situated a bit to the south of Rome’s tourist heartland, but the Coliseum is about 20 minutes walk away, and the other attractions perhaps a bit further.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Just five minutes to the metro
Though the rooms are not in the tourist centre of Rome, they are not too far away. The Coliseum was described as a 20-minute walk, the other sights a bit further. But guests explained that the metro was just a convenient five minutes' walk away.
positive:
Convenient kitchen facilities
Based on guest comments, at least one of the apartments has a communal kitchen which all guests staying in the rooms can use. Though most never really seemed to use this to prepare complicated meals, they did find it very handy to be able to quickly heat something up or make a simple dish.
positive:
Good food options in the area
While guests do mention that there were good restaurants and cafes in the area, meaning they never needed to travel into central Rome to eat well, most of the praise seemed to be heaped on the gelato available in the area. Many confidently proclaimed that it was the best in Rome.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Awkward check-in process
The rooms are in a couple of apartments owned by the same family. There does not seem to be an office to pick up the keys, so guests must contact a number and arrange to pick the keys up outside the apartment building. Of course these sort of arrangements never work out 100% every time, leaving some guests frustrated and keyless in Rome.
negative:
At the mercy of the other guests
These are essentially rooms in an apartment, with the kitchen and bathroom shared between all the rooms. Guests mostly found their fellow occupants to be pleasant, but of course this wasn't always the case.
negative:
Very poor Wi-Fi
There seemed to be quite a few problems with Wi-Fi. Usually it was simply down, so guests with an urgent need for connectivity might consider activating data roaming.
