Hotel holds your passport
Vietnamese hotels are required by their government to hold onto the passports of their guests throughout their stay. Please beware they're going to ask for it at check-in. However, they are sure to give it back at check-out, or when you're going out of town for a while, or even if decide to change hotels. Please note, unlike in some places, you will be fined by the Vietnamese government if you provide only a simple photocopy of your passport.

Some older bathrooms
