Hotel Apartamentos Turisticos Sollagos (Lagos, Portugal)

You are placed at your ease immediately as the result of the warm and spontaneous welcome. From that great start there is ongoing help and advice on places to visit and best value shops and restaurants. That initial welcome sets the tone for a wonderful stay. It seems that, for many guests, it is the reason for their regular return visits.

The apartment isn’t as impressive as the welcome – but it’s OK and with no major problems. Traditional style decor? – maybe; but it feels quite dated. There’s plenty of space though and the place is very clean with facilities including LCD TV. Some apartments open out on to the swimming pool which is also lovely and clean. All have either a patio or balcony. Wi-Fi is free if you want it and parking can be arranged.

There’s no shortage of shops and restaurants in the vicinity, including an outstanding pizzeria. If sightseeing, this is a perfect point from which to explore Portugal’s Algarve and the Atlantic coastline.

It’s an easy downhill walk into town; about 10 minutes. For most, the journey back is not so easy, but doable. Those with a disability may find that the uphill return journey is a more serious negative factor..

Towels etc; are changed, but only every few days. This doesn’t seem to be enough. You can obtain extra towels but these are rented to you at a cost which seems to be nearer the purchase price.

Prepare to go to the local shop (there is one nearby) and stock up on every single thing that you need. Unlike many places, there’s nothing here to start you off. While shopping, don’t forget the loo rolls!
