When the reception staff were on duty, guests had a pleasant first impression of this hotel. Many guests commented that their holiday got off to a great start thanks to the friendly staff greeting, but make sure to confirm arrival times, as some guests encountered a vacant front desk.

Guests loved the close proximity to restaurants, shops, and nightlife in Puerto Rico. Cumana is one of the few hotels in the area where a taxi is unnecessary, and guests could stretch their legs with an easy walk after a night out.

While a few guests found that shade was limited at the pool, most thought that it was a great place to while away an afternoon. Plenty of sun beds, regular maintenance, and refreshing temperatures were just the thing for swimmers and sun bathers alike.

Get ready to tackle numerous stairs at Cumana. Guests broke a sweat carting heavy luggage up several flights of stairs, and it proved to be a bad way to begin a holiday.

The majority of guests were prepared for basic rooms, but they were sometimes caught off guard by dated decor that could have used a good cleaning. It seems that housekeeping at this resort was frequently hit and miss, and while guests could overlook the odd dusty corner or dirty dish, they were unable to turn a blind eye to thin towels, poorly fitting sheets, and haggard furniture.

Nearby discos, bars and boisterous nightlife were the enemy of some guests who had hoped for a restful vacation. While not everyone had bad news to report about the noise levels here, many guests wished that they were farther away from the festivities.
