Positive Reviews
positive:
Super central location.
You can't get much more central than the Annex Copenhagen - it's right at the heart of the city, and once you've rented a bicycle from the front desk, the city is yours to explore. You'll be spoiled for choice with restaurants and trendy shops right on the doorstep, and it's a quick walk from the station.
positive:
Quirky, clean rooms.
The rooms may be basic, but they're a lot of fun, designed for the young, or young-at-heart. The colors are bright, the amenities sleekly modern, and most are reasonably spacious too. With the sociable, communal spaces, you may not spend much time in your room, but it's a cheerful place when you do.
positive:
Friendly, laid-back staff.
With a wealth of local knowledge to share and a friendly, relaxed attitude, the staff will help to give you a great stay. They'll offer tips to make the most of your time in Copenhagen, whether it's an unmissable sight to visit or an up-and-coming restaurant to try.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Expensive breakfast.
Guests aren't so impressed by the charge imposed for breakfast, and the lack of choice - unless you have a full meal, you won't be getting much value for money. It's not the end of the world, since there are plenty of other eateries nearby, but some free tea and coffee making facilities would be appreciated as a minimum.
negative:
The Wi-Fi is unreliable.
Yes, it's that old problem of weak signals and overloaded networks - while free Wi-Fi is advertised throughout the hotel, guests say that the only reliable place to connect is in the communal area - the signal doesn't stretch to a lot of the rooms.
negative:
Shared bathrooms only.
If you like your privacy and can't live without an en suite bathroom, then this isn't the hotel for you, as all bathroom facilities are shared. They're kept clean, and generally there aren't many queues, but you'll have the usual issues of finding somewhere to put your clothes without soaking them.
