Positive Reviews
positive:
The location is excellent.
With the airport just a few minutes away by car or free hotel shuttle, this is a great place to stay if you have an early flight. It's equally convenient if you just want to enjoy the local attractions likes shops, restaurants, golf courses, sports stadiums, amusement parks and markets.
positive:
The hotel is stylish and different.
Many reviewers remark that Aloft San Antonio Airport doesn't look like a traditional hotel, thanks to its contemporary styling and interesting details. If you appreciate clean lines, light, open spaces and creative uses of color, you will feel find a welcoming atmosphere here.
positive:
The staff make you feel at home.
You can expect a warm welcome from every single employee, from the front desk clerk who remembers your name from your last visit, to the lady who cooks your breakfast omelet. Pets, from dogs and cats to hamsters and cockatiels, will be fussed over, and late checkout requests are often granted at no extra charge.
Negative Reviews
negative:
It can get noisy.
Some reviewers report being able to hear other guests, hotel elevators, passing traffic or music from a nearby club from their rooms.
negative:
There can be issues with the hot water.
The water heating system reportedly breaks down every now and then, with several guests reporting that they had to take cold showers at various times. The hotel apparently sets the water heater to 'warm' rather than 'hot', so your shower won't get super-hot anyway.
negative:
Parking can be tricky.
While Aloft San Antonio Airport offers free parking, the parking lot is shared with other businesses, so they sometimes run out of spaces. There is additional parking in a nearby parking garage, but you will have to walk along a dark street with heavy traffic to get back to the hotel.
