Transport links, trams etc; are close by – just across the street actually - so all areas, including the city centre and business district, are within easy reach. There’s some respite too from the city’s buzz at the neighbouring park and lake. It couldn’t be better placed for MSAC – the main reason for many folks’ visit to Melbourne. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the vicinity and it’s a handy base if you’re catching an early sailing on Spirit of Tasmania.

The Art Deco theme throughout is very striking and impressive. Parking on-site is free and easy enough, although they also operate a street permit system, so maybe it can get a bit hairy on occasions.Beds are super comfy and apartments are surprisingly spacious.

They’re geared for longer stays so shorter stay visitors get the benefit of exceptional facilities. Apartments are nicely decorated and they are cool and welcoming, even when you can fry an egg on the pavement outside! Members of staff are very friendly and helpful.

Some things have been ‘let go’. The shower could do with a thorough clean to get rid of the mould on the tiles. Wi-Fi is often on the ‘blink’ –as is Foxtel. There’s no information pack detailing facilities in the area and no instructions on how to work the appliances.

The blinds in the apartment aren’t very effective plus, they’re difficult to operate.

The surrounding area is quite noisy due to the constant traffic.
