Hotel 99 Bonham (Hong Kong, Hong Kong)

The hotel location is super convenient. You can walk to a ton of places including shops and tourist attractions. The train station is close and there is even a 7-11 convenience store. The hip cafes and stores are right there in the Soho and Sheng Wan station. From there you can take the train to Lantau Island and Kawloon. Every form of transportation is available counting the MTR.

Check-in is quick and efficient. They also offer something you have probably never experienced at other hotels, a complimentary smart phone for your personal use. You receive assistance with your luggage immediately upon arrival as well.

Rooms are nice and clean and super chic. If you are a coffee lover, you will get plenty of use out of the Nespresso coffee machine. What’s more, there are only two or three suites on each floor, so the set-up is somewhat like a private apartment highrise. The complimentary mini-bar is a treat as well.

Breakfast is outside the hotel, which is not too comfortable if the weather is bad or you just feeling like coming downstairs for your meal. The breakfast cafe food is sub-standard with questionable cleanliness standards.

The room photos are somewhat deceiving, and the claim that the rooms are spacious don’t ring true once you open your door. In addition, there is only one laundry unit for the entire hotel.

You will probably think you’re interacting with a robot rather than a human being with expression and flexibility. The staff appears aloof and indifferent. Don’t expect a real hotel service type situation.
