Holiday Inn St. Paul Northeast - Lake Elmo, an IHG Hotel (Lake Elmo, USA)

One of the first things most guests mentioned in their reviews was that their room was exceptionally clean on check in. Even those who regarded themselves as a little “OCD” when it came to cleanliness could not seem to fault housekeeping, who were also said to do a good job keeping the rooms clean and tidy during the course of a stay.

These amenities were clearly guest’s two favorites. They really enjoyed being able to take a quick refreshing dip or relaxing soak, especially those who had had a hard day earning a dollar or two and needed to melt away the stress.

Guests had overwhelmingly positive things to say about the Machine Shed Restaurant and its offerings at lunch and dinner. They enjoyed both the country atmosphere and said that the food was excellent. They didn’t feel that they needed to travel in order to eat well, unless they really wanted to.

Many guests were clearly expecting a free continental breakfast buffet to be available every morning, like there is in many similar hotels. They were disappointed to discover that this one only had a restaurant with breakfast items ordered off the menu and paid for accordingly.

Guests in rooms facing the indoor pool atrium reported that there was a strong smell of chlorine in their room. Those sensitive to scents found it overpowering and unpleasant.

Far too many guests for comfort remarked that the beds were a little uncomfortable. The specific problem was not usually mentioned, but it did cause some to get a fitful night’s sleep.
