Great location for university.
Travelodge Bloomington is most popular for its great location to the University of Indiana main campus. The university is just three minutes or about five kilometers away, making it the most convenient budget-friendly accommodation in the area.
positive:
Well-situated for shops & eateries.
This Travelodge is also very well-situated to provide easy access to a wide range of shopping and eating options. Barns & Noble, CVS Pharmacy and Starbucks are all located a short distance from the property and is directly across the street from the College Mall.
positive:
Good selection of room amenities.
While rooms are quite basic, they do feature quite a few amenities to make the stay more enjoyable. Every room includes bathroom facilities and a shower. Other basic amenities includes a coffee maker, microwave, mini-fridge, cable television, room phones, hairdryers and free Wi-Fi.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Thin walls can effect privacy.
The walls dividing rooms are very thin and there is no real insulating material or soundproofing, resulting in almost everything being audible between rooms. This can effect privacy as well as enjoying a peaceful night or uninterrupted sleep.
negative:
Smell of smoke is problematic.
The Travelodge Bloomington accommodates both smokers and non-smokers on two separate floors. However, hotel management have designated the ground floor as smoking and the second floor as non-smoking. This causes smoke to drift up and create a strong smell of smoke throughout non-smoking rooms.
negative:
Alarming warning signs.
The property contains a number of signs warning guests not to leave any valuable in hotel rooms or in their own vehicles. Fortunately the 24-hour front desk also features a general hotel safe, allowing any guest to leave valuable items with the hotel for the duration of their stay.
