Guests have found that the rooms at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Gonzales offer high levels of both cleanliness and comfort, with many also commenting that there is little wear and tear to speak of and that the rooms appear to be well maintained.

Previous guests have described the hotel as offering easy on/off access to Interstate 10, making exploring the area fairly simple. Guests appreciate being within walking distance of the shops and restaurants in the Tanger Outlets and also note that it's a straight run into Baton Rouge.

Although some guests thought breakfast was fairly basic, many describe it as better than average. Aside from the quality and choice of food, guests note that breakfast is served until later than in many hotels, thus allowing leisure guests to relax and eat at their own pace.

While guests rate the quality of the rooms here highly, some do note some shortcomings in the housekeeping service. A couple of guests said that their room wasn't cleaned at all while others report minor oversights such as bins being left full.

Several guests mention that they thought the rates here were a little too high for an out-of-town hotel. Some compared the property to other HIE properties and said that the rates were higher here with no additional benefits to speak of.

A number of guests mention that the Wi-Fi could have been faster although, to be fair, many encountered no problems. Some guests also comment that the signal for their cell phone was non-existent inside the building.
