Positive Reviews
positive:
Awesome views
Guests strongly recommended that others ask for a Rocky Mountain facing room. Those on the higher floors, especially, mentioned that the views were simply spectacular, and left them in no doubt at all that they had well and truly arrived in the Rockies.
positive:
Absolutely perfect location
Guests clearly liked the location of the hotel a great deal. They mentioned that it was both just off the highway, and pretty close to downtown Colorado Springs. They found this to be the best of both worlds, since they could easily access the highway when traveling to and fro, but still had all the city amenities near at hand.
positive:
Very spacious rooms
Guests reported that the rooms were especially spacious, and certainly more spacious than rooms in other hotels of the same category. The liked the feeling of luxury this entailed and also that two people staying together had enough personal space to themselves.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Highway facing rooms
Those guests allocated rooms facing the highway felt they were double cursed. Firstly, they didn’t get the gorgeous Rocky Mountain view those on the other side had, and secondly, they reported that they could hear the sound of cars and trucks passing by, especially at night. Light sleepers found this often resulted in fitful sleep.
negative:
Pool is not heated
Guests traveling in the colder months were disappointed to find that the indoor pool was not heated. There were days when they would have loved to take a quick dip, but found the water was much too cold – unless they were members of the Polar Bear Swim Club.
negative:
Concerns regarding homeless people
Although guests conceded it was a problem throughout Colorado Springs, the large number of homeless people, and those obviously high on drugs, made them feel less secure.
