positive:
Enjoyable dining
Very few guests express disappointment in the hotel's on-site restaurant, with most describing the food as enjoyable and the menu as reasonably priced. Particular praise often goes to the breakfast, which is freshly made to order.
positive:
Appealing location
Reviews suggest that the location of the hotel suits the needs of most guests. Having access to your own transport is beneficial, but it's entirely possible to explore the area using taxis or public transport too. The downtown area is about ten minutes away, as is the Monticello Estate. Plus, the hotel offers an ideal base from which to visit area wineries.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Wear and tear in communal areas
Several guests mention that the common areas of the hotel show signs of wear and tear, with tatty wallpaper and cracked tiles among the most frequently reported issues. On the plus side, upgrades to these areas are due to start in late 2015/2016.
negative:
Frustrating Wi-Fi
A number of guests report disappointment with the Wi-Fi service at the hotel, often describing the connection as slow. Plus, when guests did get online, the connection dropped out on a regular basis. Unfortunately, there is no wired alternative in the rooms. For that, you'll have to head to the business center.
negative:
Stink bugs
Although guests are complimentary about the standard of the rooms, several report that there is a stink bug problem. You may find yourself with some unexpected and unwanted travel companions. One guest reports having to dispose of more than 20 during their stay.
