A number of guests traveling with children took full advantage of the shared facilities within the grounds of the Kingston Planation Resort, where their kids spent hours occupied by the waterpark and pools.

Previous guests to the hotel made special mention of the friendly and professional staff. It seems that for most visitors the positive attitude of staff was by far and away the best feature of their stay and would ensure their repeat business.

The hotel is directly opposite the beach and has uninterrupted views of the coastline and it is not surprising that a number of guest reviewers mentioned this in their comments. Guests also mentioned that the hotel is not far from Myrtle Beach's restaurant row which provides a plethora of dining options.

Some guests had the unfortunate experience of flooding occurring on their balconies and through balcony doors due to wet weather. A number of previous guests felt this was down to the design of the hotel and could not be helped, however years of flooding had contributed to damp, smelly and wet carpets and furnishings which was very unpleasant.

Some guest reviewers felt that the hotel could use a complete overhaul. Guest mentioned that they would start at the hotel's outdated furniture and correct low hanging ceilings. A number of reviews specifically mentioned how tiny the rooms are in comparison to other hotels in similar price points.

Some guests felt the state of the carpets throughout the hotel was completely unacceptable. A number of guest reviews pointed out that the grubby carpets were old and stained in both common and high traffic areas as well as in the rooms.
