Hatten Hotel Melaka is in a convenient and central area that is close to everything including the entertainment district on Junker Street and many restaurants and shops. It's easy to get around the area on foot or via the complimentary shuttle offered by the hotel.

The guest rooms at this hotel are simple but elegant with modern and tasteful decor and furnishings. Guests reported that the rooms are also very clean, the Wi-Fi always works perfectly, the beds are comfortable, the walls are soundproof and the views through the large windows are beautiful.

The leisure facilities at this hotel are very well-maintained. The swimming pool is spacious, clean and warm with plenty of sun loungers and the fitness center has modern and perfectly-functioning equipment.

Guests reported that Hatten Hotel tends to get very crowded especially on weekends. The breakfast room in particular gets so crowded that some guests reported having to wait in a lineup for a long time to get food that they had to take it elsewhere to eat. It's also hard to relax around the pool because of the crowds that gather there in the afternoons.

Although this is supposed to be a smoke-free hotel, guests reported not only smelling cigarette smoke around the premises, both inside and outside, but also seeing people smoking at their tables in the breakfast room while staff say nothing.

Guests reported that the meals served at the hotel restaurant are of poor-quality with cold pastries, vegetables that are not fresh, overcooked and stale items and hot items served cold. Also reported was a crowded dining room with long waits to be served.
