The Great House in Lavenham's location in Market Place is like a step back in history. Guests love the views from their window, particularly at Christmas, when all the decorations and lights are on display in the village.

The main issue guests have with The Great House in Lavenham is that there isn't a common lounge area for pre and post-dinner drinks and chat. Several guests came to the conclusion that this is more a restaurant with rooms than a hotel. Despite the lack of a lounge, the vast majority of guests still had an excellent stay here.

A few guests were unaware that the restaurant isn't open every day for lunch and dinner. At present, it closes after Sunday lunch has been served and doesn't open again until Tuesday. However, there are other excellent restaurants in Lavenham such as The Angel.
