    Superb breakfast.

    Spot on! Breakfast is really impressive. Mid-week, it’s served until 8.30 am, which may be a bit early for some. It is, though, included in the tariff so not a extra cost and well worth getting out of bed for.

    Not in good nick.

    Lashings of TLC are needed here, PDQ! Beds are old and uncomfortable and furnishings and décor dated. The standards of housekeeping and laundry are also questionable.

    There is a water pressure problem, particularly at busy times. Guests do, though, tend to get up at round about the same time, so this problem should have been sorted ages ago. Is the public/communal toilet cleaned regularly? Think not!

    The breakfast menu lacks any proper sausage or bacon.
