Comfortable rooms.

Clean and comfortable; some, but not all, rooms are on the compact side, but that’s part of the charm! It’s a Grade II listed building when all said + done. They’re well equipped and clean so no problems here.

Rooms can have low beams and uneven floors which, again, make the place individual and memorable.

A bit tired.

OK. They want to keep things ‘in character, but you can do this without letting it go to pot. Also, there’s a damp and musty smell throughout, which can’t be good.

No way is East Devon 'sleepy'.

The main road is really busy and noisy. If you are in a room facing the road and you are a light sleeper, boy! ... Have you got problems?

A mean breakfast.

Not ‘mean’ ... just mean! Small portions and not inspiringly brilliant. Maybe they want you to invest in later cream teas etc; in the tea rooms where, hopefully, portions will be more generous.
