Positive Reviews
positive:
In the heart of Madrid.
The location is the biggest draw of this hotel for most
guests - with its position just off Puerta del Sol, you can't get any more
central than this, and you'll be within walking distance of Madrid's central
attractions. The metro station is just around the corner for exploring more of
the city.
positive:
Budget price.
Guests say that the hotel offers good value for money,
providing a reasonable room at a low price in the heart of Madrid. Rooms are simple,
but provide most of the amenities you'll need, so if you're looking for a basic,
no-frills stay, Apolo XI does the job and saves you money.
positive:
Clean and comfy.
Most guests seem happy with the housekeeping at this hotel,
saying that the rooms are kept clean, including the shared bathrooms, which
helps to make staying here a pleasant and straightforward experience, and
provides a room in which you can just relax.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Not the best service.
The service doesn't impress some guests, who say that the
staff at the front desk can be quite abrupt and not always very friendly. It's
also worth noting that there's no luggage storage available, so you may have to
make alternative arrangements after check-out.
negative:
No air con.
There's no air conditioning at Apolo XI, which can make the
rooms uncomfortably hot during the summer. There don't seem to be many fans
available either, so you may want to consider packing your own if you're going
when the weather's hot.
negative:
Limited Wi-Fi.
The Wi-Fi seems to be spotty at this hotel, with some guests finding it works only sporadically in their rooms. You may get a better signal in the main reception area, but it can be a pain to traipse down there every time you want to get online.
