Positive Reviews
positive:
Highly-regarded staff.
The staff at Onslow Guest House have a great reputation judging by the reviews. Not only are they are very friendly and offer guests a warm welcome, the staff are informative about the local area and Glasgow in general. They cannot do enough for guests, being happy to arrange taxis, or make any additional bookings for local attractions.
positive:
Clean and comfortable rooms.
Guests say that rooms at Onslow Guest House are nicely renovated from the original property, very well maintained and clean. Guests find that they enjoy a comfortable stay.
positive:
You can bring your dog.
Onslow Guest House is a pet friendly hotel. This means that you can bring along the dog for the weekend too as long as long as you arrange this in advance with the hotel. Just be aware that an additional charge does apply if you bring a dog along with you.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A charge for paying by card.
Credit and debit card payments are part of everyday life, so the fact Onslow Guest House charges an additional 5% for making payments using this method does not go down well. Guests consider this charge to be excessive.
negative:
No late breakfast.
A cooked breakfast at Onslow Guest House is served only until 8am. This is too early for those guests who are not early birds, and they are disappointed to find that after this time they have only a cold breakfast selection to choose from.
negative:
Some rooms are on the small side.
A number of guests have suggested that, while the general state of the hotel was good, some of the hotel rooms themselves are on the small side which has been a slight issue for some. Some taller guests, for example, have complained about having to squeeze under the low ceiling in the attic room.
