About Babinda Quarters

Babinda is a small country town on the main highway between Cairns and Innisfail. It is 45 minutes from Cairns and 25 minutes from Innisfail. Babinda Quarters was built to house 23 nurses at the Babinda Hospital in 1950. The owner bought it as an abandoned government building in 2014 and has renovated it to a pleasant, comfortable, and spacious guesthouse with many charming features including a baby grand piano, a drum kit and a 100-year-old big bass. We are ready for a soiree. The large garden has lots of lawn and is still partly jungle. Many bold and interesting plants grow well in this area. The guest rooms have queen sized beds, a single bed, and a shower and toilet. You may stay 1 night or a week, and also a year. There is a kitchen available for you to use and self cater. In Babinda there is a choice of restaurants and a movie theatre. We are close to natural attractions suchas the Boulders swimming holes and walks. It is very scenic as it is between the two highest mountains in Queensland.
