Anglebury House is a Grade II Listed Building in Wareham, built in 1550. The building has many original features. A small family run business. Lawrence of Arabia lived in the building for a short period during the 1920s and spent many a hour drinking coffee in our restaurant. Thomas Hardy also spent time in our restaurant, and started the book, The Hand of Ethel Burton sat at our table, which is set in town. Thomas Hardys name for Wareham in his books was Anglebury meaning English Town. Wareham is a small town very accessible for days at Monkey World and the Tank Museum, which are both 15 minutes' drive.
