Grand Hostel Berlin Classic (Berlin, Germany)

Grand Hostel Berlin is in a good position. It is simple to get to from either airport and, once there, you will find yourself centrally located. A number of attractions are within walking distance and, for those that aren't, you can catch the Metro, which is under five minutes away by foot.

The staff here are very friendly and attentive. As well as dealing with any issues you may bring to their attention, they are also great at handing out advice on the must-see attractions in the city, as well as good places to get some food and a drink. They'll give you a map of the city and plenty of useful hints.

The vibe at this hostel is great. There is a bar next to the reception area which has special offers. It is a good place to meet people and make new friends.

As you might expect, the shared showers can sometimes not be as clean as you would like and the privacy levels in them aren't amazing either.

Like most hostels, Grand Hostel Berlin can get rather noisy. Doors open and close incredibly loudly, meaning that every time someone comes into the room, you might be woken. On top of this, the floorboards can be noisy and there is the added problem of sharing with people who talk at a high volume. Bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

There's no lift in this building, so you may find that you have to climb a number of stairs to get to your room, which is a pain if you are carrying lots of luggage. Ask staff to help you if you are having problems.
