About The Boathouse

The Boathouse at Opua is situated over the water at Opua -- marine centre of the Bay of Islands. The two-storey building features two large apartments overlooking the Opua Bay with extensive sea views towards Paihia. Each apartment is completely self-contained, with a large modern fully equipped kitchen and separate laundry room with washing machine and dryer. The living/dining area faces the sea and opens out on to a large furnished deck with private barbecue. Fishing rods are available in the lower apartment, which we call "The Landing". The Landing offers two equal-sized bedrooms which can be configured with either two king double beds, or one king double and two single beds. The Bridge offers a special large bedroom /dressing room with a king double bed, and a smaller auxiliary bedroom with queen size bed. The apartments have heating/cooling air conditioners, free wifi, safe, CD and DVD player. We are located adjacent to the Opua Ferry and Beach, the beginning of the Paihia/Opua Coastal Walkway, and some 800 metres from entrance to the scenic Twin/Coast cycle trail. With 300 metres, you will find the Opua General Store/Bakery, and the Opua Cruising Club.
