About African Relish

African Relish is a Recreational cooking school in the Karoo town of Prince Albert in the Western Cape, South Africa. Select a themed half or full day cooking class from our schedule. Most of all experience South African produce, cuisine and luxury accommodation and enjoy African Relish either as a stand-alone destination or part of an extended foodie tour. Book a meal at Camilla’s restaurant. African Relish runs two basic course types throughout the year. Our Anytime cooking courses, like Karoo Classics or Vegetarian, are half or full day and easy to book on short notice . Our Scheduled weekend courses with invited chefs such as Neil Jewell, Nina Timm and Stef Marais, include longer culinary and special interest retreats like our popular Cycle tour or Yoga retreat. African Relish provides accommodation for its guests in 4 of its own cottages in various parts of the town. Additional accommodation is sourced from a selection of guesthouses when required. The cottages are beautifully restored with one originally being a labourers home and another a water reservoir. The third and fourth are the rustic town houses of farmers who many years ago used the premises to water and rest their horses when they came to town for church services. DETAILS: Bedding configurations can be double or single. All cottages have self-catering facilities for the times when this is preferable. For check-in kindly come to cooking school at 34 Church Street to collect the key and someone will take you to your cottage.
